I have some sad news to share with you all. After a long struggle with alcoholism, many lost jobs, two broken marriages, and finally the death of his mother whom he was very close to, a man I worked with for many years took his own life today.
I’m sad to say that I don’t know the condition of this man’s soul. I am afraid that I never took the time to talk with him about his soul. I can only hope that he made preparation for the life after this one. Hope is a great thing and my hope is that I will see him in glory one day.
This stands as a reminder to me that while we all enjoy the warm embrace of our families, there are others who do not enjoy the blessing of family and friends. This holiday season we should all be thankful for what we have and be prayerful for those who suffer from loneliness and depression.
It is my comfort that I have you all, my brothers and sisters in Christ. Remember Carl's family in your prayers. God bless you all.

Bruce you hit everything right on the head with your post. We all seem to take our comfortable lives and families for granted. This is the time of the year that depression sets in on them that don't put everything in the hands of God. My brother Mike is in the same state of depression over the death of his son and he is grounded in his faith. It is something that we can't begin to possibly realized how hard it must be. We can only pray that God will watch over and strenthen them. We all should try harder to share our faith and hope with others. I hope and pray that Carl was saved. God Bless and thank you for sharing this with us.
Bruce,
Did this man have any children?
Carl must have been in a terrible state of mind and only God knows what took place before this man took his life, hopefully he asked for God's forgiveness for what he was about to do.We will pray for his family.
Thank you and may God bless.
Valerie
