Christmas Eve service

It was great to be in the lord's house on Sunday during Christmas. William and I always feel so blessed when we are able to be there with all of you. It was wonderful to see everyone. Thank you all for your well wishes and for all the thoughts and prayers you have for us when we are away from Carthage. We always look forward to coming home just to be able to be in our church.

This is my first visit to the church blog, and I am very impressed. I will remember to be reading and keeping up with it. Reading the prayer requests will remind me to keep them in my prayers every day instead of just on Sundays. I would like to wish everyone a very safe and merry Christmas.

Prayer Request Update

Please keep Larry Bussell in your prayers. But things look much better today than they have the last couple of days. He has had a stint and port-a-cath put in today. If all goes well he will get to come home tomorrow. He has colon cancer, but it appears to be only in his colon at this time. They are then going to start chemo in a little later and then do surgery.
Thanks so much,
Diann

Prayer Request

Please put Larry Bussell in your prayers. He is in Baptist Hospital in very serious condition and very sick. They have told him he has cancer and that they will do surgery on Wednesday. They haven't told us the extent of the cancer (they are still waiting on test results). Please keep him in your prayers.
Thanks, Diann Bussell

Christmas Program

Talking with Bro. Gentry last night about our Christmas program and meal. He ask me if I thought this was the best one. I agreed that since I have been a member that this was the best program from the message of the play through the increased number of children participating and the quality of the play. It is such a blessing to see the children come forward and take such an interest in a Church program. The parents are to be commended for supporting their children and the Church and its members also. Amy,Karen and all the supporting adults who helped it to run smooth are to be commended also. We had a good crowd and the singing by the children and adult choir was spirit filled. God has truly blessed us with with alot of talent. I want to thank the men of the Church for their help in the setting up and taking down of the props. We had more to help this year than ever and I know Weebles and myself are thankful for the help and my back also. God and parents have intrusted us with their children to see that they are trained and brought up in the right Christian atmosphere and the true path to salvation. We have been blessed. Thanks to all that help make this years program the BEST.

Sad News

I have some sad news to share with you all. After a long struggle with alcoholism, many lost jobs, two broken marriages, and finally the death of his mother whom he was very close to, a man I worked with for many years took his own life today.
I’m sad to say that I don’t know the condition of this man’s soul. I am afraid that I never took the time to talk with him about his soul. I can only hope that he made preparation for the life after this one. Hope is a great thing and my hope is that I will see him in glory one day.
This stands as a reminder to me that while we all enjoy the warm embrace of our families, there are others who do not enjoy the blessing of family and friends. This holiday season we should all be thankful for what we have and be prayerful for those who suffer from loneliness and depression.
It is my comfort that I have you all, my brothers and sisters in Christ. Remember Carl's family in your prayers. God bless you all.

God Called Preacher

What a blessing Church services were today. Those that were in attendance and others by internet got to hear and see our Pastor Bro. Charles A. Gentry not only preach the truth but got to see him receive a plaque of recognition for his 2000 funeral service. Jacky Carver & Jerry Claiborn with Sanderson Funeral Home and Robert Bass with Bass Funeral Home suprised Bro. Gentry by coming in and forward at the end of our service to award him with a plaque for 2000 funeral services. What a suprise to all of us and especially to Bro. Gentry. This was something that he did not know about. They honored him for his dedication to all people of all religions and being a great example of a fine Christian Man doing God's work in our community. Being a member of North Carthage I was truly proud and inspired by this award given to him in recognition of his service. Bro. Gentry is a very commited and obedient servant of Christ and a man of Honor for our Church and our community to look up too. I pray that God will give him several more years to Preach and hold funeral services to a lost and dying world. God Bless to All.

Good Job

Great job Mr. Admin. Looking forward to being able to post and help out with the website. I give God praises for the blessings he gives us in our Church and members. I truly appreciate all that you do for us. Thanks again for your divine led leadership.

Personal Note: Blog Admin

I believe that blogging is the tool that can truly help our membership communicate more effectively. It is my prayer that this Blog will be used for the purpose of bringing our membership closer together. May everything we say and do be in the spirit of compassion and servitude toward one another in observance of Christ’s command to love one another.

How can this Blog be used?

You can post prayer requests, progress reports, funeral notices, news, events and church related activities. A report about a class project would be one example. Another example would be a gospel singing or annual homecoming. These are just a few examples there are many others.

What this Blog is not!

Our church Blog is not a forum for gossip, a place to air personal opinions, or any other form of discussion or activity not in keeping with our Christian values and purpose.
